Preparing for Visit

If you are able to send relevent information prior to your scheduled visit, this can allow the Neurologist to review this information in advance instead of using the appointment time to do so.  This way,  they can spend more time addressing the issues that matter the most to you!

What to bring

1. A list of your current medications and dosages (you may ask your pharmacy to prepare this for you)

2. A list of relevant past medications (i.e. if you have tried medications for your condition in the past that were unhelpful or had side-effects, it can be useful for the Neurologist to know the names of these medications.

3. Results of previous neurological testing such as brain or spine MRI, brain CT, electroencephalograms (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), etc.

4. Records from any previous visits to an neurologist or hospital visits for neurological reasons.

You may prepare a brief account of your symptoms or questions you have in advance, if you wish.  If you have a problem that is best described by a relative or friend, have them attend the appointment with you.
